One of the most deadliest and worst diseases that spread across the earth for more then decades. The Black Death was one of the most devastating pandemics in human history, resulting in the deaths of an estimated 75 to 200 million people and peaking in Europe in the years 1346–53. Its has said that the plague was first in Asia and India and is said to have
been passed on through trade boats and people coming from there. There are 2 types of plague that was around at that time, bubonic and pubonic plague. The bubonic plague is when that person gets bitten by a rat, which in our case is the reason of this death while the pubonic plague is when a person infected by the plague sneezes or gets a person near him to get the plague. The bubonic plague has a chance for the person to survive while the pubonic plague kills the person 100%. The symptoms of the plague is fever, headaches, sneezes, coughing and developing boils under there arms. Fun fact: Boils are nasty things the size of an apple which would be filled with something called poisonous black pus, there color would be black from the pus. If a person infected has a family and lives with them, all of the family is locked up in that house with the infected victim. They were all left to die. Most people did believe that the black death was a punishment from god. Some people would go pray in churches in order for god to forgive their sins while others would have whipped themselves for god to also forgive there sins and keep the plague away from them, but in the end none of it worked. People here believe that this is caused by cats and dogs as well as a punishment so they would kick them out and kill them if they are seen. None never knew that it actually came from fleas which have bitten a rat, were the rat then bitten a human and the cycle goes again and again and again. It was spread easily across from the bad health and sanitation that they had at that time( Read blog about sanitation in the middle ages ). When people died: as they were all mostly poor, they would bury them in mass graves stacked neatly next to each other. Sometimes they were buried alive. Of course the people will try to find a cure for the plague so people would try to burn themselves in order to kill the fleas which would sometimes work because it would kill the fleas but the people could burn to death while the doctors would have even harder and more disgusting ways . The Black death killed more then 100 million across Europe in only one of the outbreaks. An overall opinion about the plague is even though there was times were the plague was an advantage to some people, It still had a lot of disadvantages and it killed more then half the population of Europe.
Fun Fact: People thought that if they would smell good smells like flowers and stuff it would protect them from the bad smells which they thought would be a cause for the plague as well.
