Sanitation in the medieval times

Sanitation and health in the medieval times was very bad and very unhygienic . Animals would be walking around on the streets without a owner for example. Another example is that only clean source of water, which would be a river or lake near by would be filthy and unhealthy to have people o drink from it as it would have human and animal waste, meat leftovers e.t.c, so once a person is done drinking from its mothers milk it is preferred for him to drink beer and alcohol as it is cleaner for the person to drink then the filthy water for the river or lake near by.

Streets in the middle ages would be narrow and noisy with shops, workshops on either side of the street. Another fact is that houses were made out of something called clay and wattle which would not be as strong or as good as stone or brick. Only in the late middle ages is when they started putting stone in castle manufacturing ( Fun fact: At dusk, a bell rang for curfew, when everyone was supposed to shut up their house. The gates to the town would be closed, and a watch would patrol the streets looking for thieves, and apprentices who had stayed out late! )
